Job purpose 

The Residential Manager is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations of facility by ensuring departmental systems are functioning in accordance with established contract guidelines and by ensuring budgetary guidelines are managed and maintained in accordance with the site's yearly plan. The Residential Manager is also responsible for supervision of assigned paraprofessional staff members. 


  • Possession of a High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Two (2) years of supervised related work experience.
  • Meet the minimum requirements to be clinically privileged by FCC Behavioral Health.                                                                                                                                                                                                               

Core Job Duties 

  • Responsible for day-to-day operation of program and associated activities.
  • Provide site orientation and job training to all new hire staff under direct supervision.
  • Provide supervision to Recovery Support Aides (RSA) and other paraprofessional staff as assigned.
  • Completes annual job evaluations, with supporting documents and Staff Development Plans, on all staff under direct supervision.
  • Ability to maintain personnel documentation on all positions supervised.
  • Schedule daily work assignments for assigned staff and provide adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Exhibit a working knowledge of Relias Learning Software and work directly with Clinical Manager and Program Director to ensure course compliance of staff supervised.
  • Ability to maintain clinical privileges on all staff positions supervised.
  • Ability to maintain the inventory of all supplies for treatment activities, cleaning supplies and office supplies and submit purchase requests as necessary.
  • Ability to submit and process all site-specific work orders.
  • Ability to monitor video surveillance system to ensure day-to-day operations are conducted properly.
  • Ability to conduct/participate in monthly community meetings with person(s)-served and submit response to Program Director.
  • Assists with bi-annual person(s)-served satisfaction surveys for site.
  • Reports staffing recommendations to the Clinical Manager.
  • Assure written reports to appropriate persons and/or agencies are completed in a timely manner, including the provision of such when necessary.
  • Serve on Health and Safety Committee.
  • Ability to coordinate Health and Safety in-service training and monthly drills with facility staff and person(s)-served on all shifts.
  • Ability to complete and submit all Health and Safety Reports to include, but not limited to: Monthly Site inspection, Monthly Drill Evaluations, Vehicle Inspections and Site Suggestion Box Report.
  • Ability to write detailed reports that accurately reflect historical information, identified problem areas and recommended solutions.
  • Ability to assure staff under supervision, comply with assigned Relias Learning courses.
  • Ability to ensure overall cleanliness and management of campus facilities.
  • Ability to work with Director and Clinical Manager to ensure coordination of site specific training calendar.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with Program Director with full report of facility issues.
  • Participate in staff meetings and clinical staffing with treatment team.
  • Participate in chart audit reviews with Clinical Manager and Program Director.
  • Ability to identify problems, including cause and effect to ensure problems are properly addressed.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate situations to determine appropriate courses of action.
  • Provide interpersonal support/guidance to supervised staff in problem solving and decision making.
  • Helping directly supervised staff develop skills and resources that foster success at work.
  • Ability to keep an organized and up-to-date Health and Safety Binder on site.
  • Accurate and timely completion of group counseling/group education logs, as required.           
  • Assure the accurate and timely completion of group counseling/group education logs of staff under supervision.
  • Progress notes written accurately using the PIRP format and in compliance with the 5-Day Rule (and/or site policy)
  • Maintain/improve professional competencies through training activities and/or other educational means.
  • Maintain awareness regarding the agency vision and assist staff in continuing motivation and empowerment.
  • Consistently complies with supervisory directives as it applies to enforcement of facility policies and procedures with person(s)-served.
  • Maintain/improve professional competencies through training activities and/or other educational means.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Listen to others to facilitate an open exchange of ideas and provide for effective communication.
  • Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
  • Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency's certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
  • Maintain confidentiality, at all times, within the legal framework. Will adhere to established guidelines regarding confidentiality as well as the agency's adopted code of ethics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of person(s)-served as outlined in the agency and site Policies and Procedure Manuals.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance record, respect break periods and work with supervisor to ensure coverage during any absence.
  • Exhibit a professional appearance, attitude and demeanor that reflects confidence, positive self-esteem and overall professionalism when working with person(s)-served, co-workers, families and referral sources.
  • Demonstrate initiative and a "can do" attitude.
